Think your property tax bill is high?

We compared median annual property taxes across 33 Northwest Suburbs, and the differences are pretty significant. Several communities came in at $10,000+ a year, while others came in closer to $5,000-$6,000.

Lake Zurich, Bartlett and Arlington Heights were among the highest communities where an exact figure was available. How does your suburb compare? (See All 33 Suburbs →)

Northwest Eats 🥙

Local Spotlight: Armo Grill in Wheeling

My wife and I recently stopped by Armo Grill in Wheeling, another place we’ve driven past countless times but somehow never tried. That seems to be becoming a pattern for us! 😄

Armo Grill has been serving Mediterranean and Armenian cuisine since January 2024. It’s a true family-run restaurant, and we had the chance to meet the father and son while we were there. They were incredibly friendly, and you could really feel how much pride the family puts into the food and restaurant.

We tried the combo plate with lamb kabob, chicken kabob and lula beef kabob, along with Armenian rice pilaf and potatoes. We also had the Jerusalem salad, falafel, hummus and a huge steak shawarma. Everything was fresh, flavorful and generously portioned.

Dessert was another highlight. The family makes the desserts themselves, and the baklava was one of the best I’ve had. The Napoleon cake was also excellent.

They also offer catering, private parties, beer and wine, plus some unique Armenian specialties like Khashlama Beef Soup and seasonal Khash Soup.

Overall, we had a great experience. Delicious food, generous portions, reasonable prices and genuinely nice people.

You can also find Armo Grill at Wheeling’s Taste of the Town on October 28th. If you stop by, tell them Northwest Neighbor sent you! 😊 (Link)
